Inflammation is a localized physical condition in which the body can become red, swollen, hot, and often painful - especially as a reaction to injury or infection. This is normal and needed in times of a broken bone or fighting a cold or flu.

Now that we're in a time of crisis when it comes to health related issues, food education is crucial. Knowing what foods are healthy sources is viable for a healthy body and life. However, information can be quite cumbersome with differing opinions. So, where do you turn?
The food industry is big business. Manufacturers stock our grocery stores with beautifully packaged food products, but are they really thinking about our health and wellbeing? Or, are they only looking out for their bottom line? The bottom line is that profit matters. It matters to business, and it also matters to consumers. By the way, that's us! Unfortunately, we want to save our hard earned dollars for fun things like fancy clothes, fast cars, decorating our homes, or pure entertainment. When it comes to healthy food choices, we hold back. But, can we afford to? Nearly 70 percent of our population is overweight, obese, and sick with chronic disease. While overeating may contribute to this crisis, the food we eat has also contributed. In fact, it's contributed greatly. And, the food manufacturers are to blame. But, they aren't the only ones! We have the opportunity to educate ourselves. There is absolutely no excuse with the internet being at our fingertips wherever we are. Aren't cell phones wonderful? But, we still have another problem. Food educators! You best be careful when you're reading anything on the internet. If it's not backed by scientific evidence, you best beware. (And, even if it says that it's backed by science, there better be proof with more than one source.) Front groups are everywhere! Who are they?
